TUNE IN TO NATIONAL ELECTORAL REFORM OFFICIAL LAUNCH

Basseterre, St. Kitts (August 22, 2006): Tune in for history in the making when the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis officially launches the National Electoral Reform Exercise. The epochal ceremony will broadcast live from the St. Kitts Marriott Resort tomorrow at 4p.m. It will be carried on the Internet, ZIZ TV, and radio stations in St. Kitts and Nevis.

You will hear from representatives of all Parliamentary-represented Political Parties, the Commonwealth, CARICOM, St. Kitts Christian Council, St. Kitts and Nevis Evangelical Associations, the National Advisory Electoral Reform and Boundaries Committee, and the Electoral Reform Consultative Committee.

The National Electoral Reform Secretariat implores all citizens to participate and let their voices be heard in the National Electoral Reform process. It also advises citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to visit its Web site, www. newelectoralframework.gov.kn, where they can access the schedule for the Electoral Reform Consultative Committee.

The Electoral Reform Consultative Committee will hold public consultations between September 4 and October 22 with residents and Nationals abroad.
